Before former Mayor Giuliani destroyed WNYC-TV (Channel 31), I was able to catch many great Japanese torendi doramas (Sister of Mine — Imoto Yo — is a favorite).
It looks like South Korea is catching up in the compelling TV department, according to what I see here.
