However… too clever by half? What does this mean if I want to see a video that’s on a different site? One that uses Flash?

Of course, Jobs is counting on all those other sites to see the, uh, wisdom in offering H.264-encoded video.
Which could probably also allow them to be made available via Apple TV. Which would give them a larger audience. And also enable them to compete against YouTube.
And, as a nice byproduct, put WMV into an even smaller corner than it already is!
