Web 2.0 In Crisis; Normal People Don’t Care
Somebody has to say it: Web 2.0 is a scam. If there weren’t jerkoffs like Mike Arrington hyping up these things as legitimate businesses, then nobody would use them, because, well, they’re fucking usleless. People keep going back to Arrington because he is always plugging some new Ajaxified shitheap, and developers keep making these shitheaps because they get traffic from Arrington.
Technorati was down yesterday? How did I survive? God must have been holding my hand.

Massive Leak of Pre-Air TV Shows: Piracy or Promotion?
Several TV shows from the upcoming TV season have leaked to BitTorrent over the past week. Weeds, Chuck, The Sarah Connor Chonicles, Pushing Daisies, Californication, Brotherhood and Dexter, to name a few. It makes you wonder, Is this the work of hardcore pirates or just a new form of promotion by the TV studios?
Bugger the shows that have been leaked. I’m not interested. Hey, Suits! Upload Journeyman! It’s the one new show I want to see.

THE REZILLOS - THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO
Thunderbirds Are Go - The Rezillos & frame-compilation by Junior Aragaki

This has been up since November 2006! I don’t know how I missed it.
Anyway, it’s a rock song about Thunderbirds by The Rezillos with like a billion pictures (mostly blurry!) cut to the beat of the music.

Writer Barry Eisler reading and signing at Partners & Crime bookstore in NYC on June 20, 2007. Prior post of that event.

Partners always does a great window display for visiting writers.

My first too-close picture. Blurry.

Being introduced by one of the store owners.

Giving a talk.

Emphasizing a point.

Starting to read from his latest.

Getting into the read.

Regaling us with his real-life travels.

“Cannibalism: What if I like it?”

Preparing to put pen to books.

The scribe enscribing.

The crowd. A good turnout.
