Putting Our Money Where Our Mouths Are: Boycott the RIAA in March
[…] Gizmodo is declaring the month of March Boycott the RIAA month. We want to get the word out to as many people as humanly possible that we can all send a message by refusing to buy any album put out by an RIAA label. […]
And:
Firstly, I encourage everyone to purchase music from unsigned bands and bands on independent record labels. There are tons of great artists out there, many of which you’re probably already a fan of, that have nothing to do with the RIAA.
Two such groups are Girls Don’t Cry and OttO Vector!
What is RIAA Radar?
The RIAA Radar is a tool that music consumers can use to easily and instantly distinguish whether an album was released by a member of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
It’s time to flex our muscles.
I’m in.
Come to The Bitter End on March 14th. See the Girls. Buy their independent demo CD.
Check out OttO Vector’s website; plenty of links there for buying their music online.
Fuck the RIAA!
