Playing With Pandora, It Scores A Hit!

I’d never tried Pandora before. I’d heard about it in passing. Saw a mention on a blog today and decided to give it a go.

I set up “radio stations” for Morrissey, The Smiths, The Go-Go’s, ABBA, The Bangles, and Enya. (It’s all I could think of off the top of my head. I did look for Otto Vector too, but no match.)

Very sad results!

Most of the music was just bloody cliche. Whiny singers, cloned voices, I’ve-heard-this-shit-before playing.

It really highlighted how lucky I was to run across Girls Don’t Cry!

Then, I don’t recall which “station” came up with it, but Boom! Something I Really Liked.

So I went to look up the group.

And now you rock experts can ROTFLYAO at me for never coming across their stuff before: The Muffs! (Which, according to this wikipedia entry, is deeply, deeply ironic!)

At their site you can see (cough!) music videos for two songs I really like: I’m Really Really Happy and Sad Tomorrow (direct links not available).

Screensnaps!
