Blog Notes: Early Day

August 23, 2007

I didn’t expect Two Days Of Heather (like Three Days Of The Condor?). I had other things I was going to blog about but they got swept aside.

Today I’m vacating the PC and going out to do some Real Life Stuff and, dear God!, to read.

I can finally emerge from Hovel HQ because it’s stopped raining and it’s no longing damp and chilly. I can feel Winter lurking out there, ready to pounce on me. Where the hell is that Global Warming I was promised?! Downgraded to Climate Change. Everything turns out to be disappointing!

I’ll start to catch up on things tomorrow.

Maybe.

Now Reading:
Spider Kiss by Harlan Ellison
— after decades and decades of not having read it!

Recently Read:
Red Bride by Christopher Fowler
— Fowler’s usual greatness. I wasn’t keen on the supernatural element he warned me about. Had he been able to persuade his publisher to drop it, it would have been a novel about how a person can get trapped in the grip of a bad idea. That would have been scary enough!

Still reading:
About Time (short stories) by Jack Finney
(a re-read or 2nd re-read…)
